Trees With Attitude
Movement Theater

performed by Jo Weisbrod and members of
 the Trillium Performing Arts Collective
"Trees With Attiude" is a movement theater
piece using dance, sound, spoken word and
music to illustrate how trees might dance,
and say to us if we were listening. It is about
the truth of trees; it is funny, poignant,
educational and full of surprises. Above
all, it is entertaining and thought provoking.
This piece delivers an educational and eco-friendly message.

Trees With Attitude is being presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts.

The Electric Junkyard Gamelan
ReUse, ReCycle and Rock!
Experimental / Psychedelic / Fusion:
Original Music on Invented Instruments

Electric Junkyard Gamelan is the brainchild of
bandleader and composer Terry Dame. Born out
of desire to create a totally new and original sound
Dame fused her two passions, making music and
inventing and building things to form this totally
unique group. While studying Balinese Gamelan
in graduate school in 1997, Dame became
intrigued with the high energy interlocking rhythms
and the amazing ring of overtones created by the
ensemble of metal gongs and xylophone-type instruments used in traditional Balinese music. An inventor by nature she began experimenting with making mainly percussion
instruments out of found objects and junk from the local scrap yard. Thus was born the Electric Junkyard Gamelan. Today the group's music is influenced by everything from Indian classical to klezmer, rock to jazz and is shaped by Dame's unique and humor laced voice. They perform on innovative instruments such as the Rubarp and Big Barp (electric rubber band harps), the Sitello (an electric cello/sitar combo), the Terraphone (copper pipe horn), the Clayrimba (a three octave tuned clay pot "marimba") and an arsenal of percussion instruments fashioned from old farm equipment, turntable platters, saw blades, and truck springs. The result is a super original sound with haunting melodies, funky bass lines and layers of danceable interlocking rhythms that ride over
thrilling clashes of metal on metal and colorful harmonic washes. Audiences are transfixed by the beauty and strangeness of the unusual collection of instruments on stage and the amazing array of carefully placed sounds they produce.

Option 22
 Acoustic/Eclectic

An eclectic, all original mix of rhythmic grooves and
transcendental melodies make for a performance
experience that lifts its audiences to higher ground.
Dubbed by one listener a “new age jam band,” O22's
main objective is to present a positive message. Their
flavorful style is flexible, ranging from funky and rhythmic
sounds to mellow and melodic, with each member
bringing into the equation affinities for jamband music,
funk, folk, world sounds, newgrass, trance, reggae and
rock. Robert (guitar, banjo, hand-drums, didgeridoo), Lori
(vocals, djembe, spoken word) and Albert (guitar, hand-
drums) have been writing and playing music together
since early 2004. Their songs come fresh from the
moment, meaning most of their songs are written from
improvisational sessions..With extensive backgrounds in
theatre, performance, healing arts (yoga/meditation), and visual arts, the group comes together with an artistic mind-set and a vision for a better world. You can find them at their home venue, the RiffRaff Arts Collective, in downtown Princeton, WV, and venues all across the region. Robert and Lori are the core figures of LLyniuM entertainment.

Captain Lazerblast Band
Techno-Folk

WV's premiere techno-folk ensemble, CLB consists of Dr. Tim Mainland and his wife Maggie Jusiel. They play Mainland's original compositions for live performance on electronic instruments with a folk flavor; no loops, no drum machine, no keyboards, no ciches. For the most part, Tim & Maggie feel that “music is music”, but they finally settled on the label “Techno-Folk” for their electronic music, a term first jokingly coined by Paul Stookey.
